The Stolow-Erle Wimpel

This wimpel included the family histories, delicately sketched into the design, all done with specially selected color ink pens. As the bride and groom (central place on length of fabric) stand facing Jerusalem, trailing off of her veil and his tails is notation of each generation, on both sides of the family. At the right end of the wimpel, the family ‘roots’ begin and move to the left with each succeeding generation, their immediate parents being noted to the right of the chuppah. In the photo below, the ‘ground cover’ is actually the names of their ancestors.

Ties, placed at the end of the wimpel, lend grace to the design, while facilitating the ease of securing it to the Torah Scroll when wrapped
